Role Overview:

The Leave & Benefits Programs Administrator at Applegreen is a temporary position that will support the day-to-day operations of employee benefit programs, with a focus on leave administration, disability coordination, wellness initiatives, and compliance. This role ensures accurate processing, documentation, and communication of benefits-related matters, working closely with HR, Payroll, and external vendors to provide a smooth and supportive experience for associates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short-term and long-term disability, and personal leaves.
  • Coordinate documentation and communication for leave requests and the interactive process.
  • Coordinate payment of PTO with payroll for those on leave.
  • Track payment of benefit premiums for those on leave.
  • Maintain accurate records and case documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Assist with the administration of benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, voluntary, LTD, STD, and PTO.
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations requests in HR systems.
  • Respond to associate inquiries regarding benefit coverage, eligibility, and claims.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely and accurate benefit invoice payments.
  • Assist in Open Enrollment plan setup in HRIS systems.
  • Provide clear and timely communication to associates regarding benefit programs and leave policies.
  • Monitor multiple email inboxes and the complaint hotline to distribute incoming issues to the correct person
  • WOTC processing

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in benefits and leave administration.
  • Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable laws.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as ADP and UKG.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and customer service orientation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to operate in and navigate through ambiguity, drive clarity, and effectively manage change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with coworkers and vendors.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Able to sit for an extended period of time; occasionally bend, twist, lift and carry at least 10 pounds.
  • Use of keyboard, mouse, and phone
